The Lexington Cemetery was established in Lexington, Ky. in 1849 on West Main Street. It underwent extensive construction and expansion in 1890-1891 when the chapel was built. One of the cemetery's most impressive monuments was erected in 1857 at Henry Clay's grave site. Among other notable families with members buried there are the Hunt-Morgans and the Breckinridges.
